CEO/Co-founder at Amplified: Since 2015, Sam has been an angel investor and advisor to deep learning focused AI start-ups. Before that he spent five years deeply immersed in the Japanese patent search market and emerging global IP strategy consulting field. As head of global business development at a leading patent research and analytics company, he worked closely with Fortune 500 corporate R&D, IP departments, and leading patent law firms. It would not be an exaggeration to say that everything he's learned about IP has come from the kindness of customers and colleagues. Sam is also recognized as an early leading voice on the topic of AI and the future of IP such as in his EPO Search Matters 2019 Keynote Address and IAM feature Beyond the hype: a practical guide to navigating AI for intellectual property. Outside of Amplified Sam is a loving father of two and enjoys learning foreign languages, playing guitar, and writing mediocre songs that are probably best kept to himself. 🎸🤫
CTO/Co-founder at Amplified: Prior to founding Amplified, Chris was an economist and researcher focusing on the application of deep learning methodologies to innovation econometrics. He also worked as a consultant to government and industry with a focus on program evaluation, causal inference, and big data. Chris holds degrees from the University of Edinburgh, University of Leeds, and University College London. He has held research positions at University College London, the London School of Economics, and Imperial College London, primarily pertaining to integrating machine learning into econometric analysis of large scale patent data. Chris is also a loving father, having won his family's annual 'Father of the Year' competition three years running. 😜
Anthony (Tony) Trippe is Managing Director of Patinformatics, LLC. Patinformatics is an advisory firm specializing in patent analytics and landscaping to support decision making for technology based businesses. In addition to operating Patinformatics, Mr. Trippe is also an Adjunct Professor of IP Management and Markets at Illinois Institute of Technology teaching a course on patent analysis, and landscapes for strategic decision making. Tony is an influential thought leader in the patent analysis space, wrote the Guidelines for the Preparation of Patent Landscape Reports for the World Intellectual Property Organization, has been named one of the Top 300 IP Strategists by IAM Magazine, and is the developer of ML4Patents.com the industry's online resource for the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence in the field of Intellectual Property.
