Patents for AI Inventions in Europe

European patents are all about the non-obvious technical contribution. In this presentation given at a conference in St. Petersburg European attorney Bastian Best goes through the procedures followed by the European Patent Office in examining AI related inventions. He provides a number of examples overcoming the European requirements of patent eligibility and need for an inventive step.
